Australian warships have intercepted a ship carrying about 200 asylum seekers. The Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, said the Indonesian-registered vessel was boarded in international waters off the country's northwest coast.
The refugees were transferred to another naval ship, the Manoora, which was already on its way to Papua New Guinea carrying more than 400 asylum seekers who were refused entry to Australia last week.
