Foreign Ministers sign Treaty of Nice

In southern France, Foreign Ministers from the 15 EU-member states have signed the Treaty of Nice. The treaty, which was agreed in December, sets out the reforms needed to allow a dozen more countries join the bloc. The Government is meanwhile making contingency preparations for a referendum on the treaty while it awaits definitive advice from the Attorney General on whether or not a referendum is necessary. The Green Party will be campaigning for a No vote.
