The ESB says a fault occurred on a 10,000 volt line between two sub-stations at Belfield and Roebuck Castle at twenty past eight this evening affecting local residents and the RTE studios at Donnybrook. The fault caused an interruption to the 9 o’clock news on RTE 1.
Repeated efforts were made to repair the fault, which is in an underground cable in the area, but the fault was isolated and the ESB rerouted the electricity and is repairing the fault. It says there should be no further interruptions to power supply.
