The European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus Industry, has said it's to proceed with plans to produce a super Jumbo jet to rival Boeing 747, which is made in the United States. It's thought the airliner, to be called the A380, will carry more than 550 passengers. The European Commission has rejected warnings from Washington over public funding for the airbus, saying the jet will be supported by repayable loans, not by subsidies.
