As negotiations continue to secure the release of six Royal Irish Regiment soldiers in Sierra Leone, the anti-government rebels who are holding them hostage have made public their demands. A spokesman for the West Side Boys told the BBC that they would not release the troops until Britain agreed to include them in an interim government and release their supporters from jail.
Five of the eleven Royal Irish Regiment soldiers, who were seized last Friday, were released earlier this week. Most of the original group is from Northern Ireland and two of them are from the Republic.
