A spokesman for Aer Lingus has said that reports today that the company plans to cease its services from Dublin to Kerry and Galway are premature. Dan Loughrey, the director of Corporate Affairs at Aer Lingus, said that the company had taken a decision to stop using the F50 aircraft, which is used on a number of domestic routes, including Kerry and Galway.
He said a task force had been set up within the company to examine the implications of that decision. Reports in today's Sunday Business Post claim Aer Lingus was withdrawing its services from Galway and Kerry because it was making losses on the routes.
