The Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, has warned that any Palestinian concessions to Israel over the state of Jerusalem would lead to what he described as "unconditional violence and terrorism" in the region. He claimed that no Arab or Muslim leader could relinquish rights to East Jerusalem. Mr Mubarak’s comments follow the collapse of the Camp David Middle East peace talks last month. It is feared that this could further strain relations between Egypt and the United States.
