The opposition Serbian Renewal Movement has selected the Mayor of Belgrade as its candidate for the Yugoslav Presidential elections next month. The announcement came after a meeting of party leaders to discuss whether to boycott the elections or put forward a candidate. The decision may cause a split in the vote against Slobodan Milosevic, as the rest of Serbia's fragmented opposition are backing a rival candidate.
