Committee postpones Jeanie Johnston voyage

The committee overseeing the Jeanie Johnston project in Tralee has announced that the plan to sail the famine replica ship across the Atlantic this year has been postponed. However the committee said that this was because the project is behind schedule, not because it is in financial difficulties. The vessel was built at a shipyard in Blennerville, and named by President McAleese in Fenit, where the fitting-out work is continuing.
