Rail dispute blamed for closure of Arklow fertiliser plan

Irish Fertiliser Industries has said it will lose production worth £1 million a week when it shuts down its Arklow plant in just over a week, as a direct of the deadlocked Irish Rail dispute. The entire workforce of 200 has already been issued with protective notice, which is due to expire on the 7th of July. There is still no sign of talks aimed at resolving the confrontation between Iarnród Éireann and the breakaway Irish Locomotive Drivers' Association.
