Sport: St Mary's win All Ireland League

St. Mary’s have been crowned AIB All Ireland League champions following a 25-22 win over Lansdowne at Lansdowne Road this afternoon. With both teams scoring one try and a conversion, the difference came down to penalties, and Mary’s top-scorer Mark McHugh kicked six to Barry Everitt’s five for Lansdowne.

Lansdowne’s top try-scorer Ray Niland extended his season’s tally to seven, while Victor Costello ran in for the favourites, Mary's. Mary’s captain, Trevor Brennan, was crowned Man of the Match.
