The leaders of North and South Korea are to hold their first-ever summit meeting in June. President Kim Dae-jung of South Korea will travel to North Korea to meet President Kim Jong-il. The two Koreas still remain technically at war because an armed truce which was signed by both parties after their three-year conflict ended in 1953 has yet to be replaced by a peace agreement.
