The Israeli Prime Minister is to meet the US President in Washington next week to discuss ways to speed up peace negotiations with the Palestinians. Ehud Barak's office said in a statement that Bill Clinton would also bring Mr Barak up to date on the results of his summit with Syrian President Hafez al-Assad in Geneva last month, which failed to restart Israeli-Syrian peace talks.
