Many tributes have been paid to the journalist and broadcaster, Jonathan Philbin Bowman. Mr Bowman, who was 31, was found dead at his home in Harold's Cross in Dublin. His body was found at the foot of the stairs, and it is believed that he died after a fall.
The Taoiseach said that he was saddened by the news. The Tánaiste, Mary Harney, said Mr Bowman was first and foremost a friend, who had a passionate interest in politics. The Editor of the Sunday Independent, Aengus Fanning, said that Mr Bowman was one of the most brilliant journalists of his generation. Fine Gael leader, John Bruton and the Labour Party leader Ruairí Quinn also paid tribute. Jonathan Philbin Bowman is survived by his son Saul, his parents Dr Eimer Philbin and John Bowman, two brothers and one sister.
