NTL to provide 250 new jobs in Waterford

NTL, the new owners of Cablelink, are to provide more than 250 jobs in Waterford with the establishment of a new customer management centre. NTL is a leading provider of digital television, telephony and internet services in Britain and Europe.

Over the coming 12 months, the Cablelink name will be phased out and replaced with NTL. This new venture could not come at a better time for Waterford City, which has an unemployment rate of twice the national average, as only last week, 165 jobs were lost at the Ray Bans factory.

NTL hopes that the state-of-the-art customer management centre on the Cork Road will be operational by the middle of next month and the company is starting to recruit from today, with professionals working in the areas of customer service, sales and marketing being specifically targeted. Minister Mary O'Rourke has welcomed the announcement.
