Bruton questions Taoiseach’s handling of Denis Foley issu

The Fine Gael leader, John Bruton, said the Taoiseach had a number of questions to answer in relation to his handling of the Denis Foley issue. Speaking on the RTÉs 'This Week' programme, said Mr. Foley's actions were unbecoming to a member of the party. Mr Bruton said that Bertie Ahern should have asked questions in December, rather than waiting for revelations at the Tribunal about Deputy Foley's Ansbacher Accounts. Mr Bruton admitted he was disappointed that the late Hugh Coveney had held an Ansbacher Account, but said it did not necessarily follow that he was guilty of tax evasion.
