A 21-year-old woman has died from injuries she suffered when part of a building collapsed at Washington Street in Cork city centre this evening. Two other people are said to be in a serious condition. They are among seven people being treated at Cork University Hospital and at the city's Mercy Hospital. The area has been sealed off. One person was later taken to hospital after a small gas explosion at a Chinese restaurant in Washington Street. It was believed to have been caused by a gas leak, arising from the first accident.
