Taxi drivers to discuss plans for 3,000 new licences

Taxi drivers in Dublin are to meet tomorrow morning to decide on how to respond collectively to the government's plans to introduce 3,000 new taxis for the city. The meeting will take place at the National Stadium. Meanwhile, some of the drivers involved in the unofficial dispute at Dublin Airport this morning have now returned to work. The decision to double Dublin's taxi licences has been welcomed by Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Its Chief Executive Jim Miley said that the decision was long overdue.
