Opposition candidate wins Argentinean Presidential electi

In Argentina, the opposition Alliance candidate Fernando de la Rua, has won the country's Presidential election. The win brings to an end 10 years of Peronist rule under the outgoing President Carlos Menem. In a victory speech, Mr. de la Rua, the mayor of Buenos Aires, pledged to fight corruption, end inequalities and create new jobs. Mr. de la Rua took 51% of the vote, 16 points ahead of the Peronist candidate Eduardo Duhalde.
