Poll shows drop in UUP support for Good Friday Agreement

An informal survey among Ulster Unionist activists suggests that David Trimble has an uphill battle to hold his party's support for the Good Friday Agreement. The poll was conducted by the Sunday Times among one in five of those who attended the party's annual conference in Enniskillen yesterday.

A majority said that they would not support the agreement if it were put to a referendum again. Almost all said they were against the proposed reforms of the RUC. Mr. Trimble has expressed disappointment at the results.
