World champion Mika Hakkinen saw-off a fierce challenge from teammate David Coulthard to grab pole position for tomorrow's Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg. Hakkinen took top spot by less than two-tenths-of-a-second from his McLaren teammate. Eddie Irvine was third fastest in his Ferarri, his new colleague, Mika Salo, was seventh.
