Threat to weekend rail services averted

The threat posed by members of the Locomotive Drivers' Association to the country's rail services on Sunday has receded. This afternoon, Iarnród Éireann said that it expects all services to operate normally over the weekend. The announcement follows a statement from the breakaway drivers' association that its current dispute with the company was over.

Iarnród Éireann said that they are confident all services will operate normally on Sunday, after they addressed concerns raised by the breakaway drivers' association. This includes special trains to the Munster Football Final in Cork and to the Leinster Football replay in Dublin.
