Lawrence Dallaglio has resigned as England Rugby Union captain but he has denied newspaper allegations about drugs. He has also withdrawn from the squad to tour Australia.
His decision follows a meeting with the English RFU. Mr Dallaglio is to address a news conference tomorrow. The England coach, Clive Woodward, said Dallaglio was shocked and devastated. Martin Johnson of Leicester Tigers is to take over as captain.
