Concern worker killed in Sierra Leone

The aid organisation, Concern, has confirmed that one of its workers in Freetown, in Sierra Leone has been killed by rebels. The dead man is a local man who had being working for the last year on Concern's repatriation programme for Liberian refugees.

A spokeswoman for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees said the man was killed by retreating rebel forces in the capital, as he tried to flee his burning house.

Thousands of people have been killed since rebels stormed the city early this month.
