Guests had to be evacuated when fire swept through a hotel in County Meath early today.
One person was treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after being taken from the Beechmount Hotel in Navan after the alarm was raised shortly after two thirty this morning.
People living nearby also had to leave their homes at the height of the blaze, which badly damaged the kitchen area and the hotel's disco.
The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen but Gardaí say that its cause is not yet known. The scene was being preserved for forensic examination.
