Dublin pubs warned against raising pint price

Publicans in Dublin have been warned against cashing in on Christmas by rising the price of the pint.

Junior Minister Tom Kitt issued the warning after surveys claimed that some Dublin pubs had added 5p to the price of a pint.

The Vintners Association has denied the claim and said there was no concerted effort to rise prices for Christmas.

A spokesperson said bars that had introduced price rises had recently carried out major refurbishment.
