Former Chilean leader, General Augusto Pinochet, who is resisting extradition from Britain has been remanded on bail by a London magistrates court.
The eighty-three year old general - who is wanted in Spain on charges of human rights atrocities - told the court he did not recognise any judicial proceedings against him outside of Chile. The general was pushed into the courtroom in a wheelchair.
Speaking through an interpreter the general decribed the allegations against him as Spanish lies.
It was the first time the General had been see in public since his arrest eight weeks ago. Several hundred supporters and opponents of the general had gathered outside the high-security Belmarsh court.
