used appliances).

Appliances that we leave on but are not used (lights, computers, chargers) are called "Vampire loads" because they slowly suck power for your home without you noticing. Switching off these appliances at night makes a small difference each day but it adds up quickly over the year to 50kg* of greenhouse gas.
