The 2026 TravelMedia.ie Travel Awards took place at the Clayton Burlington Hotel in Dublin 4 on Monday, 9 February.
Celebrating the crème de la crème of the travel media community, the awards celebrated broadcasters, reporters, creators and writers across 10 categories.
The awards were supported by Visit Portugal, with Director for Ireland, Carlos Oliveira, presenting the winners with their trophies.
The 2026 winners are:
- Best Portuguese Travel Story: Deirdre Mullins and Fergal O'Keefe
- Rising Star: Aoibh Carroll
- A Pleasure to Work With (Trade): Fran Lambert
- A Pleasure to Work With (Media): Kevin Gleeson
- Photographer of the Year: Conor MacNeill
- Videographer of the Year: Tony Smith
- Travel Content Creator of the Year: Dev Skehan
- TV Broadcaster of the Year: Bob O'Brien
- Radio Broadcaster of the Year: Joan Scales
- Travel Writer of the Year: Mimi Murray
RTÉ Lifestyle were particularly thrilled to see our very own Deirdre Mullins win Best Portuguese Travel Story for her article on Madeira, which tied in with an episode of Fergal O'Keeffe's podcast, Travel Tales with Fergal.
Mullins recently won the 'Best Digital Media' award at the Travel Extra Awards for her fantastic article: 'Finding the beat of Berlin, from Berghain to Hackescher Markt'. Read it here.
