Travel Extra held their annual awards ceremony, held to coincide with the annual Holiday World Show, at Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge on Friday, 23 January.
Cían Byrne, author of the Moon Travel Guide to Ireland, was presented with the overall win of Journalist of the Year thanks to his expert knowledge in cycling and adventure travel.
Alongside Cían, 10 others were celebrated for different holidaying categories, ranging from long-haul trips to eco-minded adventures.
The award winners were selected by a distinguished panel of senior Irish editors, and we here at RTÉ Lifestyle were especially thrilled to see our Travel contributor, Deirdre Mullins, take home the win for 'Best Digital Media'.
You can read Deirdre's award-winning article 'Finding the beat of Berlin, from Berghain to Hackescher Markt' here.
Producer Tracy O'Connor and the Nationwide team also took home a win for RTÉ. Their incredible work on celebrating Ballybunion, County Kerry, led them to the 'Best Broadcasting – National' award.
You can watch the episode back on RTÉ Player now.
