It's been another summer of staycations and for some of us, a battle of the selfies. Rooting out the most Instagram or TikTok-worthy spots to snap a photo has become almost as important as finding the best cup of coffee in the West or the buzziest food truck.
Now one of the most scenic sights in Ireland has been named among the most popular selfie spots in the world.
The breathtaking Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare has been named in EnjoyTravel's round up of the 25 Most Popular Selfie Spots, clocking in at number 25 with 634,375 Instagram selfies and 5,000,000 TikTok videos taken there.
Described as "a series of eight sheer headlands that roll off into the misty horizon and plunge some 214 metres into the frigid Atlantic Ocean below", the publication says that "they are cinematic, breathtaking and one of the biggest attractions in Ireland".
"Stand anywhere and take a selfie and the background will be spectacular. For uninterrupted views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay visit the round stone lookout called O'Brien’s Tower. For even more dramatic panoramic views, following the Doolin Cliff Walk and Coastal Trail. This will take you from the charming village of Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher."

Coming in at the top spot, however, was Disneyland, Paris, with 28,408,478 Instagram selfies and 6,100,000,000 TikToks taken there. Despite this, selfie sticks are actually banned from the resort, so if you want a selfie with the whole Disneyland cast, you might have to get creative.

There's little distinction between number 1 and number 2, however, as Walt Disney World, Florida comes in at second place. There have been 14,657,716 Instagram selfies and 6,000,000,000 TikTok videos filmed there, and it's no surprise given the amount of inventive snacks and drinks the park brings out each year.
Rounding out the top three is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the awe-inspiring skyscraper where 5,198,505 Instagram selfies and 1,500,000,000 TikTok videos have been snapped so far. Measuring over 828 metres (2,716.5 feet) and more than 160 storeys, it is the world's tallest building, so naturally it's an ideal spot for a selfie.
