RTÉ Today's TV Home Cook is a nationwide search to find Ireland's next standout home cook. Eight contestants from across the country have been selected and mentored by Trisha Lewis as they take on a series of cooking challenges in a professional TV kitchen for the very first time.
Over two days, they will share their recipes.
Meet Dee Freney, who prepared classic chocolate brownies.

- 150g chocolate
- 100g butter
- 200g caster sugar
- 100g gluten-free flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 eggs
Coulis
- 200g raspberries
- 75g sugar
- Juice of ½ lime
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
- Melt chocolate and butter together gently.
- Beat eggs and sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
- Stir in melted chocolate mixture.
- Fold in flour and baking powder until combined.
- Pour into lined tin and bake for 22–25 minutes.
- Cool slightly before slicing.
Coulis
- Simmer raspberries, sugar and lime juice for a few minutes.
- Blend and strain for a smooth sauce.
- Serve brownies with cream, coulis and fresh berries.
