Ingredients

(Serves 2)

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 60g peanut butter
  • 60g strawberry or raspberry jam
  • 1 banana (optional), sliced
  • 50g crushed salt & vinegar crisps
  • 2 eggs
  • 60g flour
  • 100ml milk
  • 500ml vegetable oil

For the hot honey drizzle:

  1. 120ml honey
  2. 1 tbsp chili flakes
  3. 1 tsp smoked paprika
  4. 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  5. ½ tsp salt

Method

  1. Flatten the bread, spread with peanut butter and jam, add banana if using, and top with another slice.
  2. Press down and cut into small bites.
  3. Dip each slice into flour, then egg and milk mixture, then coat in crushed crisps.
  4. Heat oil to 180°C and fry each bite until golden.
  5. Warm the honey with chili flakes, paprika, vinegar, and salt.
  6. Drizzle over the hot bites before serving.
