Dinner for four in a snap.
- 50ml soy sauce plus extra to drizzle
- 50ml mirin
- 2 tbsp honey
- 4 portions smoked trout
- 2 pakchoi, halved
- 2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, lightly toasted
Preheat the oven to 220˚C.
Place the soy sauce, mirin, and honey in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer reduce and allow it to reduce over low heat. As soon as the teriyaki style sauce thickens, remove it from heat and let cool.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and add the Pakchoi halves. Drizzle and brush some teriyaki sauce over the pakchoi then lay the smoked trout fillets on top. Again brush the teriyaki sauce on the smoked trout.
Place in the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve immediately with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and a drizzle of sesame oil.
