Review: Kia's K4 has the space, but can it keep the pace?

The family hatchback isn't dead, it’s just been redesigned in Korea. The new Kia K4, priced from €31,500 in Ireland, is a sharp‑edged alternative to the Golf and the updated Astra, with a whiff of premium ambition and a surprising amount of space.

Kia’s designers have done a little "mini‑EV6", with a bold front profile, sharp horizontal lines, and a streamlined silhouette that looks more coupé‑like than the Golf’s upright conservatism. The hidden rear door handles and sculpted C‑pillar give it a cleaner, more modern look than the Astra, which feels a bit safe even with the mid-life facelift on the horizon.
