What is the most desirable car in Ireland ? And the least ?

Kia - the least stylish, reportedly

A survey of 6,300 drivers in Ireland suggests - budget allowing - that most people would like to drive an Audi. A total of 44 per cent of respondents said the brand was their first choice. BMW came in second with 41 per cent and Mercedes and Land Rover came in third and fourth, with 34 per cent and 25 per cent respectively. The survey was conducted for 123.ie and also looked at respondents' views on reliability and style. Some 46 per cent said they did not find Renault a reliable brand, followed by 30 per cent not happy with their Volkswagen and 26 per cent not happy with their Opel.

When it comes to style, Kia was considered the least stylish (21 per cent). Nissan and Skoda were considered unstylish by 30 per cent each and Seat by 29 per cent.

However, 85 per cent of Skoda Octavia owners were happy with their cars, which chimes with the general view of Skoda reliability. Just 3 per cent behind were the owners of Volkswagen Golf and Toyota Corolla models, which indicates the majority of VW owners must be happy with their reliability but not so much with the image their car projects.

In the money-no-object category there were some unsurprising results. Just under a quarter of the men had a Jaguar on their wish list, while only 14 per cent of women wanted one and while 16 per cent of men wanted a Ferrari, only 8 per cent of women wanted one. Twice the number of men than women also wanted a Porsche.
