With a chunky styling kit and tasty alloy wheels VW Commerial vehicles is offering a passenger version of its very popular Caddy van. We took the front-wheel drive machine for a test and were impressed, as ever, by the simplicity of design. Sliding rear doors and a large tailgate makes access very easy. On the road Cross Caddy is relatively quiet and the suspension setting is soft.
On speed humps however, Cross Caddy reveals its lack of sophistication in terms of suspension. On the open road the 102hp, 1.6-litre diesel powered machine is easy to use and the driving position is crossover SUV-like. Cross Caddy is available in 5 and 7-seat versions.
