A global race, running simultaneously in 35 countries, the Wings for Life World Run raises funds for Spinal Cord Injury Research, with all entry fees going directly to research projects.
The Irish race for 2015 will start from Dún Laoghaire and run along the east coast, down into scenic Co Wicklow.
The race is unique in that there is no set finish line - a Honda CR-V will be the moving finish line.
Thirty minutes after the athletes start, the Honda CR-V catcher car, driven by rugby star Simon Zebo, will begin to follow all runners, driving slowly at first, but increasing its speed at given periods.
When Simon Zebo catches up with you (and let's face it, he should) – your race is over!
The winner will be the last person caught by the car, both in Ireland and globally.
The run is ideal for everyone, from the fun runner to the ultra-marathon athlete.
The race takes place on May 3 at 12:00pm from Dún Laoghaire.
