Dacia took a 6.9% share in the passenger car market in November and now commands a 2.8% share of the market (year-to-date).

Dacia says it continues to be Ireland's fastest-growing car brand in front of well-known established brands such as Hyundai (who claim to be also), Toyota, Skoda, Nissan etc.

The Dacia Duster SUV was the best-selling Dacia model (63%) followed by the Dacia Sandero supermini at 36%.

Commenting on Dacia's superb performance in November, Patrick Magee, County Operations Manager, Renault Group (which owns Dacia), said: "Dacia arrived in Ireland less than two years ago and its popularity with the car buying public has continued to grow.

"We expect great things for Dacia in 2015 and with the new 151 registration period upon us, we are seeing great interest at dealerships for the new Duster, Sandero, Stepway and Logan MCV."
