During this time, the Minister will be able to charge the electric car using his home charge point, at any of the three European co-funded fast charge points in Cork, which are located at Frankfield, Commons Road and Rochestown, or by using the network of 1,200 publicly accessible charge points.

Pictured with the Minister is MD ESB Networks, Jerry O'Sullivan, at ESB's electric vehicle charge point at South Mall, Cork City.

Electric cars run at a fraction of the cost of conventional cars - approximately 10% and use Ireland's ever-increasing supply of renewable electricity.
