Only a short while after the market launch of the new BMW 5 Series Saloon, the volume selling two-litre engine variant 520d has now arrived in the showrooms of Irish BMW dealerships.
The highly anticipated, new entry-level model is priced extremely competitively at €41,750 RRP (€42,600 OTR) and rounds off the BMW 5 Series engine line-up.
Initially four powerful petrol engines, the 523i, 528i, 535i and 550i, as well as two diesel powerplants, the 525d and the 530d, had been available from launch in March.
Michael Nugent, Director, Sales & Marketing at BMW Ireland, said: "The new BMW 5 Series Saloon is ideal for the Irish market and is proving to be a big hit with the Irish motorist.
"Since launch, we experienced a huge demand for this vehicle and we also received very positive feedback from our customers and the motoring press.
"We believe the BMW 520d now offers the best value in its segment due to the new model's exceptional fuel efficiency, CO2 emissions, drive experience, aesthetics and residual values."
The new, 184hp 4-cylinder model comes with a choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions and features exceptionally low fuel consumption figures of 4.9l/100km.
Emissions of only 129g/km ensure it falls into road tax band 'B' and road tax costs only €156 per year.
