From burlesque choreography in the city to a ukulele festival in Skerries, there is plenty to be doing in Dublin this bank holiday weekend.
Bealtaine is Ireland's national festival celebrating the arts and ageing throughout May. Supporting the participation and representation of all older people in cultural and creative life, the festival is filled with discussions, exhibitions, and performances. The flagship events will take place from 28 - 30 May, including a beginner DJ workshop, film retrospective, live music, conversations, and more.
50 years of Irish rock through the lens of Dutch photographers is a new and exciting exhibition coming to the LexIcon Library and Cultural Centre. This exhibition will showcase over 50 photos taken over the last 50 years by six renowned Dutch photographers. The launch will take place on Thursday, 28 May, and remain available until 20 June, before moving to Cork in July, and the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre in Dublin in August.
MOTHER: JUNE BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY
On Sunday, 31 May, Lost Lane will host MOTHER - a night of dancing to officially kick off Pride Month. Always one of the biggest parties of the year, there will be three rooms of tunes, with House, Electronic, Disco, Pop & Dance across the mainroom, library and roundbar.
The Bernard Shaw Block Day Party
The Bernard Shaw is hosting a Block Day Party, running from 2pm - 10pm on Bank Holiday Sunday, 31 May. There will be performances from Techno & Electro heavyweights Helena Hauff & IMOGEN as well as a rare three-hour set from Detroit House & Disco royalty Terrence Parker. There will also be a three-hour set from House/Disco icon Danilo Plessow aka MCDE. Local talent on the line-up includes Glenn Davis & Matty, Mode_1, Derv, Galactic Beat Club, Bodytonic DJs, and High Fidelity.
WWE Clash in Italy - All-Day Party
On Sunday, 31 May, Ned's Bar in Woolshed is hosting a special all-day party ahead of WWE Clash In Italy (Cody Rody v Gunther). The pre-show party will feature the return of Low Blows Live (for the first time since 2017) with special guests Kate Moylan and Sketchy Bros in attendance, before watching Clash in Italy live from 7pm.
Award-winning burlesque dancer Daria Décolleté is hosting an in-person workshop on Saturday, 30 May, in the Liffey Trust Studios. Focusing on executing choreography with sensuality, grace and personality, like the burlesque stars of past and present, the event is open to both beginner and seasoned dancers. Heels are optional, and glamorous outfits are encouraged.
Skerries Ukulele Festival 2026
Founded by local man Ray McCarthy, Skerries Ukulele Strummers is a group of 40 – 50 men and women from Skerries and the surrounding area who share a common love of playing the ukulele. Running from Friday, 29 to Sunday, 31 May, the Skerries Ukulele Festival will bring ukulele lovers together from all over Ireland and abroad to make music, learn new skills, and have fun. Enjoy live music, workshops, and family-friendly activities.
A staple of the June Bank Holiday Weekend, Bord Bia Bloom is an annual extravaganza of food, fashion, flowers and craft. Now celebrating its 20th year, Ireland's premier garden festival takes place across 70 beautiful acres of Dublin's Phoenix Park from Thursday, 28 May – Monday, 1 June.
