Bealtaine Workshop: Scents of Life, A Sensory Journey into Colour & Word

Bealtaine is Ireland's national festival celebrating the arts and ageing throughout the month of May. Supporting the participation and representation of all older people in cultural and creative life, the festival is filled with discussions, exhibitions, and performances. Smithfield Square will come alive this weekend as the Dublin City Council Luke Kelly Festival returns for its fourth year. Running on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24, this free, family-friendly event celebrates the life and legacy of one of Dublin's most iconic voices. There will be live performances from Sherriff Street-native Gemma Dunleavy, acclaimed Irish folk artist George Murphy, and more.

Street Feast is a Neighbourhood Network initiative that encourages communities to get together for a bite to eat. Gather your neighbours to share food and enjoy some conversation and camaraderie. It doesn't matter if you live in an apartment or house; all you need is a space to bring people together. Once you register online, you will be provided with a free DIY party pack complete with bunting, invites, posters and an informational folder. Howth Maritime & Seafood Festival 2026

Running from Friday, 22 - Sunday, 24, the Howth Maritime & Seafood Festival will take place in the picturesque fishing village of Howth. As well as delicious food, there will be live music and family-friendly games. The Tesco Summer Picnic will also host a selection of charcuterie meats, premium Irish cheeses, and fresh fruit.

The Alternative Dublin Flea Market is a free, city-wide market filled with interactive experiences, vintage fashion, arts, music, tattoo artist, tarot, goody bags, prizes and more. The market will take place in Lost Lane, Pawn Shop, Chillers on the Green and Dublin Pottery Studio from 12pm - 5pm on Sunday, 24 May. There will be goody bags for the first 100 people in each venue!
