Season 11 of the beloved dating series continued tonight with eight hopeful romantics taking their seats at the Gibson Hotel, looking for love, romance, connection and at the very least a nice meal.
For bus driver Ronan, 61, from Drogheda, the check list for his date was a simple one: "Someone that's attractive, obviously, like meself."
Married for 16 years and now single, Ronan told producers how a relationship would only add more pleasure to a life he's already very happy with.
"I'd be happy enough staying on my own, happy in my own skin", he said. "Go play golf when I want, go to the gym when I want. But obviously I'd be happy if I had a relationship."
But one thing that seemed important to state was that he was, without a doubt, a "love-maker".
"I think in the last life I was a gigolo", he joked to producers. "I'd be a love maker, an hour to three hours, no problem. I'm just telling you, the longest was three hours, 10 minutes."
For Sharon, 56, from Tallaght in Dublin, he seemed like he might fit the bill for her. "I like the wild guys", she told producers. More than that, the vivacious and chatty carer said she was especially looking for "a big hunk of a man with tattoos".
"I don't want someone that's going to sit in the corner", she added, and Ronan certainly didn't do that. The pair chatted about past relationships, hobbies, their children and the importance of 'me time'.
For Sharon in particular, after years caring for her mother and her grandkids, she was ready to enjoy some of the fun she's earned.
Despite the chats flowing and plenty of laughs had, when the time came to say yes or no to another date, Sharon and Ronan parted ways.
