From celebrating Culture Night across the city to enjoying a family-friendly event on College Green, there is plenty to do in Dublin this weekend.
On Friday, 19 September, Dublin City Council is proud to present the return of 'Nocturnal Beats: Late Night Venue Trail', following its hugely successful debut in 2024. Audiences are invited to journey through Dublin’s after-dark culture with a specially curated trail across eight of the city’s most iconic venues: block, Pygmalion, Wigwam, The Grand Social, Tengu, Whelan’s, Fidelity, and The Big Romance.
On Sunday, 21 September, Dublin City Council will host a free, family-friendly event at College Green and Dame Street to launch "Grow College Green" – a transformational project that will revitalise the historic heart of Dublin. Running from 12 - 4pm and coinciding with European Mobility Week's Car Free Day, the event will showcase themed zones, yoga and drum workshops, sustainability and craft activities, live music, children’s entertainment, and heritage storytelling. The 20th edition of Culture Night will place on Friday, 19 September, with events celebrating culture, creativity and the arts all across the country. Initiated by the Arts Council, the annual event will host workshops, performances, activities, tours, tastings, readings, exhibitions, and much more. Established in 1995, Dublin Fringe Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival promoting artists in the world of comedy, drag, dance, cabaret, live music, circus, and much more. Running from Thursday, 4 September to Sunday, 21 September, there will be something to suit every taste.
Hands on History: Gloves, Games & Gallons of Fun
On Friday, 19 September, from 17:30 - 19:00, the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks invites visitors to take part in an engaging, hands-on session that allows them to handle a selection of historical objects related to fashion, grooming, and leisure activities of times past. This drop-in handling session will take place in the Museum Reception area from 17:30 - 19:00. No booking is required.
Baby Market Dublin
On Sunday, 21 September, Applewood Community Centre is hosting a market-style event where parents buy and sell preloved baby, children and maternity goods. Tickets from €6.34 on Eventbrite.
