The kids are back to school, we're losing the long stretch in the evening, and things are getting chilly again, but that doesn't mean we have to stay on the couch. From the Dublin Fringe Festival to the IFI's Documentary Festival, there is plenty happening in Dublin this weekend.
On Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 of September, from 11am to 5pm, Richmond Barracks are hosting a free Harvest Fair for 2025 celebrates autumn, abundance, and nature. Come together to meet artists, makers, producers and small businesses as we celebrate the season. The theme for this fair is 'Eat, Grow and Make'.
Self Care Sunday with Guide in Girlhood
On Sunday, 14 September from 6:30 - 8:30pm, Fade Street Studios will host an evening of mindfulness, self-care and rejuvenation. The perfect way to dive into autumn. The Irish Film Institute's Documentary Festival is hosting its annual celebration of non-fiction filmmaking, taking place from 10 Wednesday - 14 Sunday, September. The festival presents a cutting-edge mix of screenings, panel discussions, and public interviews. Cinema tickets cost €15 each.
Established in 1995, Dublin Fringe Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival promoting artists in the world of comedy, drag, dance, cabaret, live music, circus, and much more. Running from Thursday, 4 September to Sunday, 21 September, there will be something to suit every taste.
On Saturday, 13 September, from 1pm - 6:30pm, The Betsy in Swords is hosting a Dine n Dance Event. This Throwback Party will feature music from the 90s to the 00s, with performers, inflatables, giveaways, confetti cannons, and sing–a–long microphones and glowsticks. Tickets €10-€40.
Pop-Up Gaeltacht with Tabhair Aire
On Sunday, 14 September from 11:00 - 14:00, a pop-up Gaeltacht will be hosted at the Tigh N' Alluis Irish Sweat House on Ballybetagh Road, D18Y673. There will be a welcome circle with Gaeilge prompts, yoga as Gaeilge, an optional sauna and cold plunge, followed by ceol, chats and treats. Tickets €22.49.
The Secrets of Primrose Square
Running in The Gaeity from Tuesday, 9 September - Saturday, 13 September, The Secrets of Primrose Square is a story of human life in a Dublin suburb; love and heartbreak, tragedy and loss, sex, lies and not forgetting outdoor Pilates classes on the Square, followed by chai lattes to go. Presented by Pat Moylan Productions, the cast includes Clelia Murphy (Fair City, Conversations After Sex), Marion O'Dwye (The Dry, Dancing at Lughnasa) and Leia Murphy (Video Nasty, Big Story).
Creative Waste Reuse Workshop for Kids
On Saturday, 20 September, from 11:00 - 12:30, The Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun is hosting a hands-on arts & crafts workshop for kids aged 6 to 12.
