It's that time of year again when people are either going to weddings, taking part in weddings or planning weddings.

Maybe, like a lot of us, you're hooked into following the latest wedding to take over social media, from Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez' nuptials in Venice to the latest Adare Manor festivities.

Clontarf Castle, Dublin

If you're in the planning stages, however, it can be hard to figure out how you want your wedding to look. Just in time, Irish wedding venue website SaveMyDay.ie has revealed the top wedding trends for 2025 couples.

The results showed that, unsurprisingly, summer is still the most popular time of year to get hitched in Ireland. More than that, however, they showed a 15% increase in the amount of couples looking to get married between May and September compared to last year.

With this in mind, the choice of venue has become even more important for many couples, from having space to soak up the (hopefully) nice weather, to making the most of Ireland's natural beauty.

The main trends to emerge from the polling were:

  • Locations that showcase nature, from woodlands and gardens to coastal destinations.
  • Versatile, blank canvases where the couple can put their own stamp down with decorations.
  • Historic venues with a more modern twist.
  • Festival-style venues that encourage relaxation and fun.
  • Sustainable and all-inclusive options.

Speaking about the results, Shell Holden, wedding expert and co-founder of SaveMyDay.ie, said: "Summer weddings in Ireland are evolving beautifully. Couples are leaning into venues that offer not just a stunning backdrop, but a full experience.

Fernhill House

"From festival-style weekends with glamping and food trucks to garden gatherings, 2025 is all about creating immersive, personal celebrations. We're seeing a huge appetite for indoor-outdoor flow, non-traditional layouts, and venues that reflect the couple’s personality and values."
