From nationwide fundraisers and community markets to full moon swims and yoga, there is plenty happening across Dublin this weekend.

Portobello Block Market

When: Sunday, 13 April from 11am - 5pm

Unique Markets is hosting a pop-up event in the community market of Charlemont Square in Dublin 2. Running from 11am to 5pm, there will be local design, vintage clothing, arts and crafts as well as hot food and coffee on offer.

Dublin Coffee Festival

When: Saturday, 12 April - Sunday, 13 April
Where: RDS Hall 4 (Industries Hall)
How much: €19:50

If you love a cup of Joe, make your way to the RDS this weekend to enjoy the biggest coffee party of the year. A true celebration of Ireland's coffee scene, the two-day event will have latte art competitions, talks and panels from industry experts, sensory spaces, workshops and more.

Full Moon Meditation

When: Friday, 11 April at 7pm
Where: Mutton Lane Yoga Studio, Dublin Mountains

Yoga and meditation teacher Sylvia Ferguson is hosting an hour long meditation session in the beautiful surroundings of the Mutton Lane Yoga Studio in the Dublin Mountains. The event is open to all levels and abilities, including absolute beginners. The perfect way to welcome the new moon this weekend.

Full Moon Sea Swim, Yoga & Cacao

When: Sunday, 13 April from 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Where: Near Seapoint - Exact location given two days before event

Yoga teacher Amanda Marren is welcoming the full moon this Sunday evening with an hour of yoga and stretching followed by Cacao meditation and a refreshing sea swim. Time will be given to set intentions and journal so be sure to bring your yoga mat, warm clothes and a hot flask for after the swim!

Step Up for Family Carers

When: Sunday, 13 April at 11am
Where: Across Ireland
How much: Individual €25, FCI members €18

A nationwide 5km fundraising walk is taking place this Sunday, April 13, at 11am in support of Ireland's 500,000+ family carers. All fitness levels are welcome as the event is not a race but a "moment of solidarity, support, and recognition for the incredible people who care for loved ones". Children are welcome and go free.

Walks will take place in the following locations:

  • Dublin: Waterstown Park
  • Galway: Palace Grounds, Tuam
  • Kilkenny: Kilkenny Castle
  • Limerick: Mungret Park

Print & Pattern Workshop with Susan Lee

When: Sunday, 13 April from 10am-4pm
Where: National Print Museum
How much: €110

Those over the age of 18 are invited to learn letterpress and linocut techniques with artist Susan Lee at the National Print Museum. Using the museum's collection of wood type and your own hand-carved blocks, you will print images combining type and pattern. Materials will be provided and the course will run for six hours.

The Last Man in Ireland

When: April 8-19
Where: Smock Alley Theatre, 6-7 Exchange Street Lower
How much: €22

Developed at Scene + Heard, this comedic three-hander play has been described as "John B. Keane meets Bladerunner". In Last Man of Ireland, the island of Ireland has been inexplicably destroyed by rising sea level, with just one patch of land and one man left. Exploring the cyclical themes of family dysfunction and grief, it delves into the past and presents the story of an imagined future.

Squidink + Dublin Pottery Painting

When: Friday, 11 April at 7pm
Where: Dublin Pottery, Queen Street, Smithfield
How much: €5 deposit

Paint your own tattoo-inspired pottery at Smithfield's Dublin Pottery under the supervision of tattoo artist Eimear O'Reilly of Squidink Blackrock. Expect stencils, prizes, BYOB* and music in this fun artsy session of creativity. The €5 deposit guarantees a position in the studio but is not the full price - this will depend on what you choose to make. studio
