Home of the Year has returned to our screens with a fresh batch of stunning houses and creative homeowners.

Now in its 10th season, the beloved show champions homes that are filled with personality as well as ingenuity. Tonight's episode celebrated the individuality of each featured property, with judges Hugh Wallace, Amanda Bone and Sara Cosgrove passionately debating over the highs and lows of the first three houses.

As always, the show will span the length and breadth of the country, offering an endless amount of home inspiration, from small fixer-uppers to new builds and everything in between.

Tonight's episode featured a Georgian granite house in Wicklow, an extended 1930's cottage in Waterford and a period townhouse in Galway. Click through the gallery above to peek inside each house.

Craig Dee and Matthew O'Rourke, Waterford

Craig and Matthew purchased their small 1930s cottage in 2018 when it was in a bad state of repair. Inspired by the bones of the property, the couple rebuilt the cottage section whilst retaining the vernacular shape of the existing building. They added further space by adding a link corridor and a two-story extension cladded in black charred larch.

The pair are particularly interested in Danish design and the retro Mad Men mid-century era. They favoured simplistic and clean lines in their home decor, and added pops of colour and natural greenery throughout their home.

Their family and friends admire the aesthetic of the home and the couple love the space they have created, and how it’s full of warmth and represents them.

Lynne O' Loughlin and Alan Brogan, Galway

Lynne and Alan live in a period townhouse in Galway with their triplets.

The home is approximately 100 years old, and though by the time they found it, it was in need of some repair, the couple fell in love with its original features and set about creating a wonderful family home.

They completely renovated the house, adding a semi-basement and creating an additional living area, making it a three-story home. With three young kids, storage was a priority, and they have countless secret storage areas throughout the home.

Lynne and Alan wanted to make the most of the authentic characteristics of the home but compliment them with a fresh, vibrant style. Lynne describes the interiors as classic with an eclectic twist.

Kieran and Maire Barrett, Wicklow

Kieran and Maire live in a Georgian granite house with their daughter in Co. Wicklow.

The striking property was built in 1790 as a small granite house, in the traditional two-up-two-down style for a worker from the local Manor House, and the couple purchased it in 2000.

Kieran and Maire describe their home as an interesting tapestry of history, with the new and old seamlessly knitted together.

They have mixed antiques, to enhance the period character of their home, with modern elements using splashes of colour and pattern throughout to create a style of home that is unique to them, both comfortable and calm where nothing is too precious.
