This week it was announced that the Red Bull Dance Your Style competition will come to Irish shores for the very first time.
Already a hit in the US and beyond, the high-energy battles bring outrageously talented dancers from around the globe to showcase an impressive range of street styles including hip-hop, popping, locking, house and more.
Taking place on Saturday, September 30 at 1pm at Pembroke Square in Dublin's Dundrum Town Centre, a live audience will have the chance to choose Ireland's representative for the global stage.
Here's how it will go: DJs will blast well-known tracks at random, challenging 16 of Ireland's top dancers to perform and adapt their dance styles to the rhythm of the beat. From funk to pop music, rap to garage, old-school classics to recent chart hits - this will be a day of non-stop tunes.
Following the performances, the winner of each battle will be decided by the live audience.
The crowd-favourite will then go on to represent Ireland at the World Finals in Frankfurt on Saturday, November 4, when dancers from more than 30 countries will compete against each other in electrifying one-on-one battles.
The people of Dublin will be given a taste for the action the week of the competition, when two members of Red Bull’s international dance crew, StalaMuerte and Dassy Lee, come to town to showcase the fun format across the city.
